About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Discover, learn, eat as much as I can.

ABOUT ME

I am a Briton willing to learn as much as I can about anything and everything: languages, history, culture. At the same time, everything is about the experience, so I'm going to keep trying new things.

PHILOSOPHY

Live as you want to. Learn as much as you can. Try new things and take risks. If they don't work out, bear the scars proudly.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Not usually having any fixed base abroad, I am largely more looking to surf than host. I would really appreciate any couch offered to me and am happy to help in some capacity, be it teaching English/French/Latin or about English culture, or even bits and bobs around the house.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I am yet to have my first CS experience. However, online, people have been very friendly, willing to help me in any way they can.

Music, Movies, and Books

I love the British Classics: Shakespeare, Dickens, Conan Doyle, Byron.
Recently I've been getting into things which make me think harder: Chomsky, Grotowski, etc.
I'm very open to suggestions, the reading list is ever-expanding.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Austria and Hungary 2006.
Germany and the Czech Republic 2008.
Latvia/Lithuania 2008.
Europe 2009.
Japan and Taiwan 2010.
Malaysia 2011.
US 2012.
China 2013-14.

Teach, Learn, Share

Willing to teach English, French, Latin/Greek (if people really want), or Mandarin (I'm approaching fluency).

I'd love to share my experiences travelling in Asia, the US and Europe, but also about anything relating to the world in general: history, linguistics, ethnography, etc.

I am very keen to learn any language. I'm getting to fluency in Mandarin, so I can teach/share.

I can share as much as I know about British culture and the performing arts: I'm training in various different styles. Want to learn Peking Opera?
