About Me

CURRENT MISSION

cycling from Belgium to Central Asia, my boyfriend Daniel and I decided to do this crazy trip and left on August 30th, we give ourselves one year to get there heading South to Greece and then Eastwards through Turkey & Iran to the Chinese border

ABOUT ME

Enthousiastic, spontanious, voluntary, easy going

PHILOSOPHY

I strongly believe in human beings and in their capacities more than anything, I guess that makes me a humanist. there is also some existentialism in the way I see life.

I am happy and lucky in life and feel the need to share this with people when I can, by being a nice person (not always but I try!) and helping out where I can. there's just so many things that are unfair and unequaly shared in this world that I feel the urge to balance this a little whenever I can (also realising that I will not change nor save the world, but sometimes you can 'save' or help one person from/with something)

Interests

*DIY (do it yourself & being creative & ucycling - just starting);
*sports such as volleyball, african dance or any kind of dance, I cycle around Brussels to get from one place to another;
*be in contact with nature (grow plants and (small)veggies, go for walks, observe nature a little, get to know more about agroecology and where our food comes from, escape from the city - which I also love btw- now and then,...);
*getting to know more about other cultures, other ways of thinking/of living life... it's fascinating!;
*always trying to learn a little of the language when I'm in the setting;
*doing nothing, stop thinking, enjoying this moment;
*slow down to think about life, about what's happening; ...

Music, Movies, and Books

I love reading, don't always make a lot of time for it, but recently I read more :o)

I like many kinds of music (not a great fan of techno or rap though...), I particularly like 'black' music (someone told me he understood what I meant but thought it wasn't right -- politically correct-- to call it that... sorry, can't find no better way to explain it): from nina simone to gospel to tracy chapman to habib koité to ben harper...; jazz 'n blues; classical music particularly piano (chopin'd nocturnes..mmmm) and cello; music from mali and west africa; salsa & batchata & a lot of latin music; gaelic folk music (belgian, irish...); pop rock; good french text music; lots of other things.
I like good movies too, mostly small budget ones, the ones who really tell a story, who let you see inside the character.
