To get on annual hols without having nervous breakdown

ABOUT ME

We live in a village outside Chester called Tattenhall. Both of us are busy at work and at home - tend to get involved in lots of village/social things eg annual beer festival, pete is an ambulance 'first responder' (sort of like a volunteer ambulanceman). He also builds guitars in his spare time. Me, I like cooking, going to the theatre/ music events, bookaholic, the sun on my back...

PHILOSOPHY

Definitely live and let live. There's too much hard stuff in the world already to make it any worse by being intolerant. Or miserable. Or horrid to people. I sometimes think that the world would be a lot nicer place if everyone just smiled a tiny bit more (and meant it, obviously).

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

We try to respond promptly to all messages, but we're a bit slow sometimes because we don't log on every night. Always willing to try to help couchsurfers out. We haven't been members that long. I'd like to try visiting people, but until we had some experience hosting we were a bit shy!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

We've had one person to stay so far and that was really interesting and glad we did it, looking forward to meeting others and helping them on their journey if we can. Would love to be able to show people around but we work full time so we're a bit limited for availability - but there's always the village pub! Or if someone stayed at a weekend, we'd have more time.

See above. I'm learning Spanish at the moment and loving it. Pete is learning to play flamenco guitar.

我做过的一件不可思议的事情

Swimming in the red sea next to a barracuda far bigger than I ever suspected it would be. Good job it was far more interested in the fish! Watching seals at Blakeney point. This year the house martins have finally decided that our house is good enough to build a nest on and watching that has been great.

Knowledge of our area and England generally. Guitar building! Would love to have some expert/ native Spanish speakers to stay - especially if they can show me how to cook dishes they love from home. Pete knows loads about everything.
Autocad - know a lot about that because I use it every day.
