CURRENT MISSION

I have moved to France having no idea how to speak French, so right now, to learn is my number one mission.

ABOUT ME

I'm Australian, and I moved to France without knowing the language. It's SLOWLY but surely coming to me with time. But I have a long way to go.
I live here with my boyfriend Guillaume.
I am a full time artist back in Australia, and miraculously managed to make a living from the sales of my work. Which is awesome! :) I'm lucky!
Since being in France I've continued to paint, I'm working toward having an exhibition of my work here one day. So THAT, and learning French, and settling in here, are all very much what my life is about right now. Not bad eh? ;)

PHILOSOPHY

I believe that if you can have an appreciation for the small things each day, then being happy will be more attainable. It helps you focus on what you have, and can help you to not take things for granted.
It's how I TRY to be anyway :)

I have only just joined, but my intentions are initially to take part in some events and meet people in my area. Exchange, make friends, and cultivate a good grounding here in Rouen.
In the future I think that we might be open to hosting, I guess that will depend on a couple of things, we will see! :)

Interests

I am interested in drawing and painting.

I love gardening, potting up plants etc and creating an atmospheric place to spend time. I also love cooking for people. I wouldn't say that I am the best, but I think that I have a simple approach, and a natural instinct about food, which is a good base to build on :)

I love a good movie.
Movie, couch, cup of hot tea... cookie, blanket and voila, there is a perfect lazy night in for me. I also love discussing a movie afterward, why it was good, or why it was terrible.

I like walking, and observing things. I especially love sitting at cafes... for many reasons.. cafes are one of my favourite places. I like to eat and drink for one thing. And people-watching (especially as an artist and chronic day-dreamer) is a great way to pass the time. I also like visiting new cafes, and picking out what I like about them, because I've always dreamed to open a cafe one day.

I love music, and concerts. I won't mention what type as it varies. Yesterday I was painting to the White Stripes, and this morning a did some yoga to Jacques Brel.

Oh I like yoga too :)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

One amazing thing I have seen was the huge orange moon rising in the desert of Western Australia. It's an image burned into my mind.

And one amazing thing I have done in my life, is to fall in love! Honestly the best chance I've ever taken. Guillaume you rock!! xx

Teach, Learn, Share

I would LOVE to meet some people who would patiently try to have a conversation in French with me....because I really am a BEGINNER.

On the other hand I guess I can speak English pretty well! And I am patient enough to do the same for someone else. :)

I have never taught anybody how to paint ...but I would be open to trying that too.

I can also poach an egg to perfection just about every time. I've heard that's a valuable skill... and I would share that. ;)
