Hi. My name is Alf or Alfie to my friends.
I am a single 54 year old male who just discovered couchsurfing today. I live alone in a 3 bedrom unit on the outskirts of Melbourne, Australia. My unit is 1km from the train station and shops. A train ride into the heart of Melbourne is between 35 and 45 minutes depending on the time of day.
I have two adult sons that don't live with me.
I work as a business analyst for a Company that I've worked for since I was 17. A long, long time.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I decided to join because I thought it would be great to meet local people when I travel and to learn from and enjoy the company of tourists.
What a great way to learn about a place you visit. I would rather shout my hosts some meals and get advice in return rather that staying at an expensive hotel alone. The same goes when hosting. What a great way to learn about exciting places to travel.
Btw, Im trying to work out how I go about getting references. Just joined now 12 December 2016. In the meantime, people are welcome to skype or meet me at my work. Whatever they need to make themself more comfortable and the same for me.

Not much I can teach I don't think.
I can share my place, my humour, knowledge and experience.
I would love to learn more about great places to visit and hopefully one day I have the opportunity to stay st my previous guests places and learn from them.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I have a double bed in a spare room with a tv (netflix available when not being used by me)
I also have wi-fi, kitchen they can use and a small backyard with furniture and darts board.
I can share my knowledge of Melbourne and surrounds.
