Overview
About Me
I grew up in Nansana, Uganda. My biggest passion in life is Ugandan traditional music and dances. I have been learning local instruments, dances my whole life. And now I am leading a band by myself. My goal is to help poor people who are talented in music in this community to learn a skill and make a living. We do rehearsals every afternoon on weekdays so I might be busy during those times, but you are more than welcome to watch, even join us with some drumming and dancing!
I am also interested in making things. Besides the band, I also have a small rabbit farm I built by myself. I also designed and built a 2-floor structure by myself and that is where the band has the rehearsals every day. If you come here, I would love to show you around.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I love making friends and meeting people from all over the world. I believe that the best ideas come from communication. Also because I have a very big space in my grandmother's house that nobody is using so I thought that it will be the perfect place for helping travelers.

Teach, Learn, Share
I am very good at African instruments and dances. I can teach you how to play different types of drums and musical instruments. You can also join my group to learn dances from different Ugandan tribes.
I would like to learn from you about your feedbacks of my band. We have audiences but we need honest feedback to grow better and stronger every day! If you have any ideas of how I can lead my band to go further, I will be so happy to hear that.
I can show you around the area I live in. You can experience eating Ugandan traditional food with hands in a local bar.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I will try my best to prepare you a comfortable place to stay at. If you have any questions about Ugandan culture and traditions, I am happy to answer you. I can share my music with you and introduce you to my band members. I can also teach you the local languages.
You can also experience a cultural experience because all of the members of my group are from this area. My grandmother does not speak English but she is a very helpful old lady.
