About Me

Hi, I'm Ali Kamal, a young at heart doctor from a vibrant city of Kerala, India. By profession, I’m a palliative care doctor, deeply passionate about helping people find comfort and dignity in life’s toughest moments. My work has taught me the value of empathy, listening, and finding joy in the small things—a lesson I carry with me in all aspects of life.

When I’m not wearing my stethoscope, I’m an explorer at heart. Traveling is my way of investing in myself, a chance to grow, learn, and connect with the world in meaningful ways. I enjoy occasional painting and creative writing, using them as tools to reflect on life and capture inspiration when it strikes.

I dream of building a mobile hospital to serve underserved communities across India, combining my love for holistic care with my passion for making a difference. Until then, I’m here to exchange stories, share experiences, and make the world feel a little smaller and a lot more connected. 😊

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I see Couchsurfing as more than just a place to stay—it’s a gateway to meaningful connections and cultural exchange. I believe that every person I meet has a unique story to share, and I’m always eager to exchange experiences, cultures, and laughs. Whether it's a lively chat about your favorite local spots or a calm evening sharing stories over chai, I'm here to experience the world through your eyes and share my own slice of India.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I’ve had the privilege of standing at Jogini Waterfalls, where the mist dances with sunlight, creating rainbows you can almost touch.
Watching the golden rays of the setting sun cast a magical glow over the winding roads and serene village of Zuluk in Sikkim left me speechless.
Then there was the winter trek to Kedarkantha in Uttarakhand—an unforgettable journey through snow-covered mountains, waking up to the crisp, cold air, and panoramic views that felt like stepping into a dream.
And I’ve also been captivated by the vibrant kite-filled skies of Jaipur, the Pink City.
Some of my most cherished moments, though, are the long, winding walks with fascinating strangers, sharing stories over chai and, occasionally, a joint—conversations as memorable as the places themselves.

Teach, Learn, Share

If we meet, I’d love to introduce you to the heart of Kerala—its food, culture, and the magic of coconut-flavored everything. I can whip up a mean South Indian meal, teach you a bit of Malayalam, or maybe even share tips on mental health and personal growth.

What I Can Share with Hosts

A cozy corner to crash, good company, and a chance to share smiles and stories. I respect personal space and am happy to lend a hand with chores or help in any way I can!

Let’s make the world feel a little smaller and a lot warmer, one connection at a time. 😊
