This profile is a description for me and Nicolas, since we travel together.

Since we met at the university (11 years ago !) , we love traveling together, and exploring other countries (most of the time by train, since we are very attached to ecology !). We like hiking in beautiful natural landscapes, discovering other cultures and most of all, eat the most delicious local food ! We both are very curious about a lot of things. Recently, we got interested in recognizing mushrooms, and learning japanese in order to travel ;) But most of all, we make all the efforts we can for the environment, and are attached to have a purposeful job for that ! On evenings, we like to play board games or video games (together or with friends). We like eating good food so we spend quite some time in the kitchen.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

When we travel, we enjoy making encounters and meet the inhabitants of the places we visit.
We are now in a 3 mounth-trip in Japan and have never tried Couchsurfing. before. We would like to try during our stay to have a richer experiment and try a sharing without remuneration for a new way of travelling. During our trip, we would love to share with people, learn about the good tips (especially, good restaurants !), discover secret places ad so on ! In return, we would love to welcome people at our home when we are back, to make them discover our city and country.

Music, Movies, and Books

Alice : I love fantasy/science-fantasy/romantasy books, like the Chronicles of Pern, my first one from which I took my pseudo in videogames (Nerilka) :D ; and a lots of manga too (Noragami, Arslan...). I like to spend time in nature : gardening, walking in montain, ski (skating)... and spend time with my friends (playing volleyball, boardgames, going to a show, talking during hours or any creative activity with people I like). Finally, I love to spend time to learn new things !

Nicolas : I read quite a lot and various things such as essays on social/political science (An essay I liked a lot was "Bullshit Jobs" from David Graeber), mangas (If I had to chose one I would say that Fullmetal Alchemist is one of the best. Quite old now but does it matter ? ) or fantasy novels (I often rely on Alice's choices for that !). As for movies, I mostly watch anime and series. Best anime : I would go for Steins;Gate ; Best series : can one be better than "Breaking Bad" ? I'm quite open minded in music.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

One of our travel we liked the most was a 10 days backpack treck in Swedish lapland (in summer, important precision), where we got by train form France (3 days !) It was our first treck at all.

Teach, Learn, Share

Alice : I can teach some french recipes, I have some aquariums skills (fresh water), managing energy skills from my work...

Nicolas : I am very curious and tried a lot of things but most of the time I did'nt get to a very advanced level. I can play piano and guitar, make crochet, I'm not too bad at drawing, I like doing DIY (built a low tech sun dryer once, not bad uh ?) and repairing stuff.

What I Can Share with Hosts

We would love to spend evening(s) with our host to share about our different cultures, share our travel stories, have fun playing card / board games... We are always ready to lend a hand for the kitchen or dish-washing ! If you like, we can talk about our country, culture, language... We also love to talk about our jobs and ecology, but not everyone do, and we are perfectly OK with that ;)
