About Me

CURRENT MISSION

I am currently studying abroad in Copenhagen. It has been an absolutely amazing time so far. I want to keep it up by traveling to as many places and meet as many people as possible!

ABOUT ME

I just turned 22 years old (celebrated as if I just turned 21 haha). I am studying abroad in Copenhagen but I'm originally from Virginia. I am a spunky individual; I'm only 5 feet 4 inches but I have a Yao Ming big personality.

My friends complete me. If it were not for them I would be absolutely clueless. I will be traveling with three of my best friends. We are a great inseparable bunch that always have a great time. We love meeting new people and learning about new cultures.

I appreciate a good time. Feed me good white wine (or lousy wine after I'm already drunk) and a nice hearty southern meaty meal and I'll be yours forever.

Something I appreciate more than eating itself would be cooking. I have grown a reputation of being a total Betty Crocker in my building. My friends back home call me "Betty Chang." no joke. After being in Copenhagen I have developed a deeper appreciation for my oh-so wonderful Crock Pot/slow cooker. For those of you who do not know what it is, it is a magical ceramic or porcelain round cooking pot that sits on your kitchen counter and cooks food at really low temperatures for really long periods of time (5-10 hours) without you to be attending the food. Can someone say "beef stew?" Oh my gosh... I'm already drooling.

Once I hear country music playing on the radio, I have this propensity to just jump on my feet and start singing at the top of my lungs and dancing around. (P.S. I do not have the best singing voice...so be warned). Yes, I am one of those crazy people that drive my car and sing like a madwoman.

Oh, in case you could not tell already, I'm ultra outgoing and friendly. I will strike up a conversation with absolutely anyone. I look forward to meeting you! Let the good times roll.

PHILOSOPHY

Drink more than you eat.

Here's to the nights we don't remember and the friends we won't forget.

I encourage everyone to make a bucket list of 100 things to do before he/she lies, and to do everything on the list. Do it for your loved ones. But most importantly, do it for you. Create your own story. Live without regret.

“A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another.”
John 13:34

Live to learn, and learn to forgive and forget. Take advantage of your formal education, but also remember that learning does not stop once school ends. Every day is a lesson, and all of life is a classroom. Open your mind to new ideas. Also, learn to appreciate the small things in life and never ever lose hope of your dreams.

Life is too short to be holding grudges. The burden of being mad at someone takes on a heavy toll, and it certainty poses as a heavy weight within your heart. Give forgiveness to others for others will in turn forgive you. Forgiveness brings a kind of peace that helps you go on with life.

Take on risks. Do not be afraid of the unknown. Most importantly, do not be afraid to love and be loved. Love and life can take you on many adventures. Embrace them for you are young. Do not live with regret and play “what-if” scenarios in your head.

Be confident in yourself. Love yourself and those around you. And above all, be true to yourself.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I would love to open up my place to visitors but I do not have the best living accommodations in Copenhagen (I have a good mate and no furniture or sheets) and I will only be here until mid/late December.

If you will be Virginia, however, I would be honored to host you.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I just found out about this website through a friend who did it in Bath, England so I am a newbie to CouchSurfing. But I am open to new experiences and coincidently I will be traveling with 3 great friends to Vienna and Prague in a week so I figured why not try CouchSurfing?

Wish for the best, expect the worst, right?
