About Me

I'm a recent (ish) UGA grad, taking a year off to work and live in Paris. I was born and raised on the Caribbean island of Antigua and then moved to Atlanta, GA where I lived for about 10 years. I don't speak with a very Caribbean accent but every now and then it slips out especially when I'm around other Caribbean people. My goal is to learn as many languages as I can so that I can travel to practice (Spanish is next on the list) but also I'm very interested in learning as much as I can about the nastiest tropical and infectious diseases and maybe be lucky enough to help develop treatments or vaccines for a few of them.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

A friend of mine that I met through Airbnb recommended it as a good way to meet new people especially locals while travelling

Interests

Foreign languages, travelling especially to non-English speaking countries, dancing (badly), eating, happy hour, WINE, stromae (and a lot of other things from Belgium like Belgian beer), the walking dead!!

Music, Movies, and Books

every last song on stromae's last two albums, old calypso, SOCA, dancehall, all paramore albums, dubstep, John Denver, really bad yet catchy music (i.e: anything Fetty Wap "raps"). I love movies that have something to do with how the world will end whether it be through some kind of virus or through natural disasters. Animated movies like Shrek or Up or my favorite: Shark Tale. I don't have any favorite books though.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Spend almost a year living in Paris on my own with no friends or family and with no confidence in my ability to speak french even though I spent nearly 7 years obsessing over the language.

Teach, Learn, Share

That's a tough one, it depends on the host and how much they want to learn about me and would like to teach me about their culture.

What I Can Share with Hosts

All I have are my experiences, so if you're interested I can always go into more details about that.

Countries I’ve Visited

Antigua and Barbuda, France, Italy, Jamaica, United States
