About Me

Change is not merely necessary to life - it is life. (Alvin Toffler)

I've always been a bit of a free spirit, eager to have unique experiences. I am outgoing and enjoy meeting new people and eating my way through cultural differences. I enjoy sharing experiences with others but I'm also more than happy to entertain myself.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I became a part of the couch surfing network while traveling abroad about 2 years ago. I couchsurfed in Australia and New Zealand with each of my experiences being rewarding and memorable. With couchsurfing, I was able to meet new people, enjoy good food and conversation, and see and hear things I wouldn't have been privy to otherwise!

Now I'm excited to be back home in Portland and (as soon as my sister gets her own place- new college grad) ready to share my studio with travelers. Stay tuned!

Interests

Food. Strange, familiar, lowbrow, or posh- I'm in.

I'm not a big drinker but I do enjoy going out and having a drink or two. I was a bartender for a while and some of my favorite conversations happened at or behind the bar!

I'm interested in seeing both city (museums, shopping districts, etc.) and country life (green pastures, animals, beaches, mountains, lakes, and desert) on my travels, as well as visiting friends and family.

Music, Movies, and Books

Some books I highly recommend:

The Killer of Little Shephards / The Lost City of Z / Born to Run

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I once played with 3 month old baby tigers in Thailand.

Teach, Learn, Share

Great conversations (and photos) about my travels and a desire to learn about you and your home.

A Tip: Always make your bed, or couch, or floor space. Being tidy is good for the soul and your home's feng shui. Plus, I suspect your mom would be proud!

What I Can Share with Hosts

I'm more than happy to help outside with light gardening and such as I love the outdoors.

I enjoy cooking with and for others. Food is really a pleasurable past time for me. So let's eat!

Countries I’ve Visited

Australia, Belize, Cambodia, Canada, Indonesia, Laos, Mexico, New Zealand, Singapore, Spain, Thailand, Viet Nam
