ABOUT ME

Let me just say that I often daydream of playing an electric guitar before a sold out English stadium, of speaking many native Mexican languages, of important scholars in an important auditorium presenting my most important writen work, of a Mexican player holding up the FIFA world cup, of discussing these and other things with my father, of the traffic lights in my city not being full of windshield cleaners and circus performers under 16.
Of seeing my name in a movie poster, in bookstores' bookshelves,in an indie rock cd booklet preceeded by the words 'All songs by', in history books on the back of Manchester City's number 8 jersey, Trafalgar square, the Great Wall, Wembley, the Taj Mahal, Nazca valley, Earth from space...

PHILOSOPHY

I'm up for:
Less cars on the streets, less noise in the avenues, less advertising everywhere, less American franchises around the world, less low quality private schools; less, but a lot less poor people.
More smiles on people's faces, more full concert halls, more low cost ticket planes, books and computers, more room in college for kids, more movie theaters; more, but a lot more free people.

Interests

I like singing, eating, laughing till my stomach aches, enjoying movies, playing an air guitar while I listen to Oasis, play footbal (up to 15 minutes), helping others laugh, reading short tales, traveling and meeting new people and places, spending time with friends, sleeping while I'm hughed, eating tacos, especially tripe, watching the NFL, talking and talking, screaming freneticaly in front of the TV when my footbal team scores, also at the stadium, talking some more.

Music, Movies, and Books

Bit of everything, from Lynch to Spielberg, from Allen to Carey, from Kurosawa to Von Trier, from Berlin Alexanderplatz to Star Wars.
Big into the whole Brit Pop thing, alternative rock, classic rock, choral music, dancing salsa, cumbia n'allthat.
I love short tales in Spanish such as the ones from Borges, Cortazar, Pacheco and so forth. And of course you gotta love your Dostoievskies, Joyces and Wildes!

Teach, Learn, Share

You got me there... I could teach Spanish, I guess. And whatever I know about my country's history and culture, and traditions which I love and try to cherish.
Now learning, though, I'm up for almost anything.
As far as sharing 'mi casa es tu casa'!
