ABOUT ME

i spend a good bit of time drawing little pictures in little books. i love running and walking around outside, looking at trees, drawing trees.
making food and preparing meals is a lot fun, especially if there is wine involved, and company. I like making soup and corn bread. i like riding my bike fast down hills.

PHILOSOPHY

i am on a search to find the beauty in everything. and to take the opportunities that come my way, because those opportunities have so much more to offer than anything i might plan.
i try to tread lightly on the earth by riding my bike, eating less meat, taking the bus, turning lights low, using tap water, eating organic veggies, and smiling. and i find double pleasure in these things because they help me and they help the earth (my home).

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I will share a couch when I have a couch to share, currently my home is devoid of any couch, or extra sleeping space.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

i have surfed the couches of friends, and friends of friends, all have been lovely.
a notable surf: i had one wonderful man stay on my couch and we are great friends now. he educated me on classic movies that i hadn't seen, we went on hikes. i taught him how to make brown butter apple pie. It was GREAT.

Intereses

giant wooden sculptures, walking in the woods, sitting in cafes at night and drawing pictures, tasty food, the ocean, swimming, bicycles, seeing new places.

Movies:
I watched C.R.A.Z.Y recently, a very good movie. pans labyrinth, amelie, and triplets of belleville.
Books:
just read beneath the wheel by herman hesse. i liked it a lot. some favourites are 100 years of solitude by gabriel garcia marquez, stones from the river by ursula hegi, the time traveller's wife, as well as three incestuous sisters by audrey niffenegar, prodigal summer by barbara kingsolver.

one amazing thing i've seen: the colour of the ocean on the cote d'azure.
one amazing thing i've done: clinging to the back of a yellow enfield motorcycle while careening up a mountain in a dry riverbed.

I know how to make delicious pies and soup as well and have had many successful pie lessons, i'm always looking for interesting music that i didn't know about. and i would like to learn how to make a four string braid, and how to play the banjo.
