I am Alina, Russian girl on an exchange in the Netherlands. Right now I am doing my Erasmus program here but after going home I'll continue studying and will finish university next summer. I am studying media communications but among that, I am really fond of the design. The biggest dream of my life is to publish my own children's book with my own illustrations. That is why I am working hard on developing my drawing and storytelling skills :)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I love travelling. And after several trips, I realized that the best way to see the life of the city from the inside is to explore it with a local. It is a wonderful way to meet new friends and welcoming people in whose house you will feel as if you are at your own home. I'll try to do the same when I am going to be a host! :)

Music, Movies, and Books

My favourite music band is Red Hot Chili Peppers and I really hope I will visit their concert someday. I am super in love with Wes Anderson's movies and also Yorgos Lanthimos's and Tarantino's ones. I am a huge fan of classic Russian literature especially Ivan Turgenev and Leo Tolstoy. I love dancing and was in a hip-hop dance team for 4 years. We did some amazing performances in the theatre and I still sometimes perform at some events :)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I went volunteering this summer. It was a little Italian village in the south. 11 volunteers from all over the world, conversations until 5 am, cherish memories and an unforgettable experience that is what this trip gave to me. I really hope that my future travelling will be as good as these 3 weeks in Brienza! :)

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach you some Russian or how to cook some traditional Russian dishes. Also, I promise to bring some classic Dutch sweets with me!
