Über mich
CURRENT MISSION
To make the most of my time away from home!
ABOUT ME
I'm a freshly 22 year old Canadian girl who can't stay still for too long. I love to live in different cities and soak up the local life, drinking beers on patios, talking to random folk and making friends all over the world! I lived in Brussels for some time and completely fell in love, now I live in Glasgow and I gotta say the kindness of the Scottish is unlike anything I have ever experienced.
I'm pretty easy going, I do not like to spend energy on stressful or useless thoughts. I usually travel solo, and I absolutely adore it. It took me some time to get used to being alone, the main reason I started travelling solo was because all my friends back home in Vancouver were too unmotivated to travel. Now I am so grateful because I get to experience all the things I truly want to do!!
Warum ich bei Couchsurfing bin
Hostels are nice, but it does't come close to the experiences of couchsurfing. Getting to see other places in the city other than the centre, a genuine human connection. I am seeking the next city where I can hang my hat, and seeing how other people live their lives in the city is definitely the perfect way to get a feel for that.
Interessen
Sam and I love to cook together, and it became quite tether for us throughout the completion of my BSW, motivating me to get up and stop studying, bringing us collective joy, comfort and connection, and helped me challenge myself in a creative way when I felt most burnt out.
Some of my favourite ways to challenge myself in the kitchen is the pursuit of creating the flakiest pie crust, the fluffiest sourdough (with the starter lovingly tended to by Sam), the softest mais tortillas, and finding the intersection between quick, healthy and tasty for weeknight dinners.
Sam also loves to cook (and is incredible at that), challenging himself to make dishes better than anything we could eat out. Some of his best hits have been miso black cod, crispy pork belly with charred leek emulsion, making pizza in our Ooni (best in town IMO), and his simple salsa macha, our most essential pantry staple.
Some of our other interests are hockey (go Goldeneyes!) and baseball (go Bluejays and Mariners!), discovering an awesome brewery/watering hole or unique restaurant, a quiet sandy beach (bonus points if you can camp on it!), paddleboarding, spending time with our cats Ravioli and Beans, and going to music shows/festivals (especially electronic ones).

Eine tolle Erfahrung, die ich gemacht habe
Wow, it is so hard to think of something off the top of our head. We would love to talk about our most amazing experiences in person, it's always better to have these conversations face to face :D
Lehren, lernen, teilen
Got any travel tips in your area? Insider knowledge? Hidden gems? What parts of town make you happy, or have special memories? I've travelled quite a lot as well and would love to swap tips!
We'd love to swap recipes; what are your hall of fame favourites? In exchange, we can pretty much guarantee the best Carnitas tacos recipe, including the softest, fluffiest homemade mais tortillas (probably) ever made by a white Canadian, or how to keep a sourdough starter alive.
Who are your favourite music artists? Local musician legends? What about comedy movies? We'd happily share some of our media favourites and we can help expand each others understandings of our favourite genres!
What are your favourite ways of creating and activating community? Self and community care strategies? How do you stay resilient in your day-to-day? Tips for a healthy, long lasting relationship? We have a few of our own from these categories and are always eager to sharing what we know and learning more :)
I used to brew cider and Sam brews beer sometimes. I tried brewing kombucha one time and I screwed it up so bad, so if you have any tips for that, that would be amazing too, lol!
Was ich mit Gastgebern teilen kann
Well, we are clean, tidy people and will always aim to leave your home as clean or cleaner than when we came. We will always do our dishes, follow any other instructions that will make your hosting experience as stress free as possible.
We would happily make a meal for you as a thank you for hosting us, it's the least we can do!! We are low-maintenance and aim to be very clear communicators, and encourage you to do the same in return :)
