About Me
CURRENT MISSION
to dive into a new daily life in madrid... and be open for everything expecting me on this way
ABOUT ME
Hmm.. always difficult to describe myself..
I am a half austrian - half turkish girl and I was born and raised in Austria. At the time being, I'm moving to Madrid for a year (looking forward with so much curiosity)!
I guess that I can be sometimes loud and outgoing, participating in all activities.. I like doing sports (I started with Capoeira, dancing, jogging, bit of Yoga, Tango), going out to dance sometimes, or going to cultural activities..
But I also can be quite calm, enjoying the time just for myself, or with dear friends and family. There is nothing better than an afternoon spent in the park with a good book, or a good meal with friends at home!
I am studying "natural ressource managmenet" and "political science", and was also working for a couple of hours per week - so in Vienna I didn't have that much spare time.. but let's see how this turns out to be in Madrid now :)
PHILOSOPHY
I guess that the most important value for me is honesty. That might sound a bit naive, or as a matter of course.. but being honest to others always includes the ability og being hones to oneself, and that's not always that easy as it sounds..
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Although we had several couchsurfers in my flat share in Vienna (not on my profile), I am a newbie on couchsurfing in Madrid, so I don't know yet, how I will participate!
I guess that once I have found a place in Madrid, where I will stay for more time, I would like to host - I guess it might be a nice experience to get to know the town with others, and maybe to be able to show the few places I learned to love in Madrid..
Maybe couchsurfing also helps me to get to know some people here in Madrid, meet them for a coffe or a drink..
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
My first couchsurfing experience I will never forget: A couple of years ago I came back to Vienna after a trip in Mexico, and when I opened the door of my flat share, there were standing two total strangers in my kitchen.. My first thought was: "Nothing happened to me in Mexico, and the first thing happening in Vienna is getting robbed.." - this was, when I learned what couchsurfing is, and how much different it is from "stealing" (time, space or whatever), but that it is much more of a "sharing".
With those two "robbers" we passed some great days in Vienna!
Interests
Difficult to say, as I guess that I am really easy to motivate to try out new things..
Last day a friend of mine managed to make me enthusiatic about shooting zombies - a thing I would have never imagined, as I don't really like computers, neither shooting at all (not even on a screen). Maybe it was a first time/last time thing, but nonetheless fun for a night :)
In general I am interested in sports, reading, cultural activities, I love going to dance at night and passing time with my family and friends.
I love getting to know different places and to dive into different everyday lives..
I guess that I love to share things of my life, and I love it, when someone's sharing with me. That includes making nex experiences or seeing old things of a different point of view..

Music, Movies, and Books
hmm.. actually everything, I have kind of a emotional connection to, or an experience I connect with it..
but in order not to write just blah-blahs:
some of my favorite movies: old boy, mulholland drive, dogville, big lebowski, Dr.Strangelove, almodovar movies, snatch, 2001-space odyssey, life of brian...
books: kundera: The Unbearable Lightness of Being, all the books and stories of ephraim kishon, Hermann Hesse, Jelinek: Pianiste, Kapuściński...
music: casino vs. japan, plaid, nujabes, buena vista, air, gotan project, erykah badu, four tet, gonzales, beirut, mr.woodnote...and 80s music and turkish pop music :)
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I guess one of the most amazing feeling was being so relaxed in vacation or travelling around, that I once fell asleep in front of a small waterfall in the forests of Mexico..
