My name is Aline, 23 years old and I am currently working as an information designer/infographic maker in my hometown in the Netherlands. For the last couple of years I've been using all of my days off to travel as much as possible, and I'm not planning on quitting, quite the opposite haha.

I'd love to travel all over the world, but I have a special interest in former Sovjet/USSR countries. I've been fascinated with these since I was a kid. Because I'd like to travel these countries extensively, I'm learning Russian. To be able to really connect with the locals.

That's what makes travelling so valuable to me: really getting to know new people, having in-depth conversations and exchanging lessons and stories together.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Over the last couple of years I've met quite a few people in hostels all over Europe. Hostels are cool, but I'm more of an one-on-one person so I can really get to know you.

Music, Movies, and Books

I like different genres of music. But if I gotta pick something, I would say the good old music from the 60's and 70's! I don't watch a lot of movies. I rather watch Youtube videos on specific topics I'm interested in. Like travelvloggers who really go off the beaten path and also share stories from the locals they meet. For books I like nonfiction. Learned a ton from Dale Carnegie's books, but also improvement books like 'The War of Art' from Steven Pressfield.
