Music: mostly rock, metal but also classical symphonies.
Books: Tom Clancy, The lord of the rings trilogy, all of Charles dickens books, Dragon seed.

Had a 30 second staring contest with a big shark on one of my snorkeling trips...he was polite enough not to bite and i was smart enough not to swim in that area again.
