About Me

I am shedding roles and identities that I have outgrown, stepping into a new chapter where i feel activated, alive, and on fire.

I have done everything that was expected of me. Go to school. Get good grades. Excel at sports. Get married. Raise responsible and respectful children. Grind away at work. Never stopping to ask myself what kind of life I WANT to live.

I have fallen deeply in love with Brazilian culture and for the past two years have been part of a Brazilian dance and drum group. It has transformed me and helped me to realize the kind of person I desire to be. I have had the honor of building beautiful friendships with dynamic, creative, dynamic Brazilian women here in California.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I will be traveling throughout Brazil for two months, beginning on 3/12. I want to see as much of Brazil as I can, not just as a tourist, but as someone who wants to absorb what it is like to live in Brazil. The good, the bad, the beautiful, the ugly, the excitement, the mundane.

I feel that the best way to achieve what I am looking for is to connect with Brazilians who are willing to open their doors and their hearts to me, as my beloved Brazilian friends have done for me , and I have done for them here in my home country of the United States.

Music, Movies, and Books

I love music, books, and movies that make me laugh and cry from one page, one scene, one note to the next. The ones that make me experience the full range of human emotions. Love MPB

Series that I love: Mozart in the Jungle, Transparent, Girls From Ipanema

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I danced with my samba group at the Carnaval parade in San Francisco, CA. It was the best weekend of my life.

Teach, Learn, Share

I would love to improve my Portugués and to help Brazilians with their English. I would be happy to share what it is like to live in the United States, the good and the bad.
