Home is the PNW and Hong Kong. I'm currently a student at a local university studying English and Comp. Religion, but when I'm not in school, I love reading, cooking, biking, cleaning, playing with fiber (knitting, weaving, embroidery, etc.), climbing trees, and petting other people's dogs. I can be a little shy, but I love a good small-group conversation, and I like asking questions.

Besides the obvious benefit of saving a little cash (I'm a full time student with a job to make ends meet), I love getting an insider's perspective on a place. Tell me why you love where you are! Home is a very important concept to me, so it's a joy to hear what makes your home special.

I've surfed only once before, but I'm attempting to become more invested in the Couchsurfing community.

Interesses

I've always been casually involved in creating art in some way-- I love painting, singing, sketching, dancing, etc., but lately I've really gotten into fiber arts: knitting, sewing, weaving, and embroidery! It's satisfying to know that I can make my art (hopefully) functional and (hopefully) beautiful.

More than anything, I love being outside, especially in the mountains or near the ocean. My goal for summer 2016 is to go hiking or camping every weekend. I've recently gotten into bike packing/camping as a way to see more (and sometimes bring more) of my home state. Human powered mobility is very important to me.

As a queer woman of color, I'm passionate about issues of ethnicity and gender/sexuality, and ethical organizing more broadly. I'd love to talk to you about post Colonial studies, ongoing occupations, and combatting institutional oppressions.
