HI, HEJ, and HOLA. My name is Alissa, and I live and work in Seattle. I studied International Relations and Spanish at the University of Washinton. I grew up in the US and Denmark, and have traveled to, or lived in, 23 countries to-date-- hoping to break out my passport again this winter. In the meantime, I work as an assistant for Amazon.com Fashion.

I have had some great hosts while traveling in the US and abroad, and want to continue that good travel karma by returning the favor.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Some friends who hosted couchsurfers told me about it three years ago, so now I try my hand at hosting when I can. I just wish I had known about it sooner! For me, couchsurfing is a great way to make new friends while experiencing the city as locals do.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have hosted roughly 15 CSers (from France, Germany, Mexico, Spain, the UK, and more) at my place her in Seattle, and just stayed as a CSer (instead of host) for first time in January during a trip to Puerto Rico. It is fun to show people my city and learn about theirs! Some people I've hosted have turn into real friends whom I have met up with on subsequent travels.

Meeting people on trains, dancing in my apartment to early 2000s R&B, salsa, wine, people-watching, European politics, dirty jokes, Netflix marathons, soccer ( Hala Madrid!), art history, TRAVELING, and did I mention wine?
