Hi everyone! My name is Alla. It has been a year since I moved to America from Russia! It was an amazing year of experiencing American culture. And I don’t want to stop. I set up a goal to travel around US as much as it possible and meet a lot of new people as well. I strongly believe that every state in America is unique and incredible in its own way. I’ve been staying in New York for too long, I want to explore the rest of US. The true goal of traveling for me is not just a new destination on a map, i consider that it opens my mind, gives an opportunity to get new outlook. Also I spend a lot of time working and making money so I forgot to work on self-development. This period of my life I would describe as looking for a path I want to go. Moreover, lately I chose the my life motto which is ‘life can only be understood backward, but it must be lived forward’ (Soren Kierkegaard). So I’m currently living and enjoying my life, making mistakes and getting experience. I believe, that is the best way I could say something about me.

Warum ich bei Couchsurfing bin

I’ve tried Couchsurfing with my friend, when we went to Milwaukee, WC, and then Chicago, IL. I felt in love with this opportunity to travel around the country and the world and meet so many awesome people!

Musik, Filme und Bücher

I was crazy about motivation literature for a while. I’ve read a lot of stories of success, but then I realized they just narrowed my borders and it’s not what I can learn from. So I switched to classic literature (basically Russian), I keep reading something in English to improve my language but it always takes much time.
Talking about music, I don’t have special preferences but I love rhythmic music and dancing.

Definitely it was flying on a helicopter with doors off and only a seatbelt above Manhattan. My friends surprised me gifting me that for my 21st birthday. They said this age is very defining in my entire life. Maybe from that point I started looking at things differently.

I would share fantastic time with my hosts, talking about everything and doing everything if they have time! At the end of my staying they will say ‘she is so funny, I would host her again!’ 😃
