About Me

Hey! I’m Allan—28, Kenyan, explorer, storyteller, and future Mr. International (passport still warming up for the challenge 😂).

I’ve backpacked across East Africa with nothing but curiosity, a backpack, and the occasional bad snack decision. These days, I run Airbnbs near JKIA (Jomo Kenyatta International Airport)—so I spend a lot of time hosting travelers who are coming and going. But for Couchsurfing, you get the real Allan experience at my own home in Kahawa West. (Yes, it’s not exactly next door to the airport, but hey—you’ll get to see another side of Nairobi life!)

When I’m not hosting, I’m either plotting my next adventure, working on becoming a legit tour guide, or nerding out on Data Science. Travel + Tech + Hosting = my chaotic cocktail of passions.

If you crash with me, expect good vibes, Nairobi tips, random adventures, and probably a story that starts with, “So this one time on a matatu…”

My interests are all over:
🌍 Traveling & lowkey tour guiding
📊 Learning Data Science (work in progress, don’t ask me to fix your Wi-Fi 😅)
🏡 Hosting & running my Airbnbs
🥾 Road trips & detours I definitely meant to take
🎶 Music & dancing like nobody’s watching (they are, but I don’t care)
🍲 Food—eating, cooking, or just talking about it like a love language

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

For me, travel has always been about the people I meet along the way. I joined Couchsurfing because I believe the best memories aren’t just about the places you visit, but the connections you make while you’re there.

I want to share stories, laughs, meals, and experiences with people from all walks of life. Hosting or surfing, it’s all about that sense of trust and community—where strangers can become friends overnight.

At the end of the day, Couchsurfing feels like the perfect mix of adventure and hospitality: opening doors, learning from each other, and proving that kindness still exists everywhere you go.

Alternative/indie, progressive house. Podcasts 💯

Teach, Learn, Share

I can show you how to survive Nairobi matatu culture like a pro, how to make a Kenyan-style smoothie with peanuts (seriously, it’s a thing 🥜🥤), and maybe even a few tricks about hosting if you’re ever curious about Airbnb.

I'm also eager to learn anything, really. From cooking your country’s dishes to random words in your language—I’m here for it. And if you know Data Science or cool tech stuff, consider me your eager student!

i love good conversation, playlists that don’t always make sense, Kenyan stories, and a genuine curiosity about who you are and where you come from.
