My name is Allen. Thanks for taking the time to review my profile. Here's a little info on my background.
I was born in Olympia Washington and moved to Alaska soon after. I lived in Alaska for a few years until I moved back to Lynnwood with my brother and mother. Growing up I spent every summer and break from school spending as much time as I could with my dad in Alaska. I have three brothers and one sister. Being the oldest has been a blessing and challenge. I started a career in the maritime industry by commercial fishing and have been moving around between different sectors ever since. Currently I work 4 weeks on an ATB(articulated tug and barge) and then have 4 weeks off. Which brings me to the next section below..
Update: I am not working anymore. Just traveling on the motorcycle. The route is from Florida to Argentina. The timeframe is one year or so. Very flexible.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm here on couchsurfing because I am traveling the world and want to meet as many people as possible. There are some amazing places I will never discover on my own nor will I learn much about. I'm trying not to miss these places which is why I'll be looking for hosts. I call my motorcycle Loretta(Monty Python reference) and I love her dearly. Will be looking for people that can host us both:)

Interests

At a young age I was riding dirt bikes around the yard. Today I have one which I have been preparing to ride around the world with. I absolutely love motorcycles. There are lots of activities I am interested in such as hiking, camping, fishing, and exploring. My main interest above all else is learning. I love to learn about everything I can. History has been very intriguing to me. I am extremely interested in philosophy and listen and read a lot on the subject. That is part of the reason I am out riding around the world.

Music, Movies, and Books

Well I am a huge Monty Python fan. Can recite many many lines with other fans. I also love the Mel Brooks films and can recite those lines too. My music choices are very mixed. I enjoy most music and especially live music. The older collections are some of my favorites. Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, Buena Vista Social Club, Dean Martin, Sinatra, and everything in between. I love a good adventure novel and was very inspired by a book called Long Way Round by Ewan McGregor.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I'm not too sure I've done much that I would consider amazing. Hopefully after riding my motorcycle around the world I will be able to list that on here. We can exchange stories and perhaps someone else could suggest something to add to this box.

Teach, Learn, Share

As mentioned above I would love to learn as much about your location and history as I can. I would love to learn the local languages and cultures or customs. I can share stories of sea and am willing to teach anything I'm able to. Always more than willing to share drinks with anyone. I'm a sailor after all:)

What I Can Share with Hosts

Traveling by motorcycle means I won't have many items with me but I was raised to never show up empty handed. Usually a drink is what I like to start off with sharing. Being as I like to play hard I also like to work hard and would love to help you with your home or farm or something else? Manual labor is great and if it's something new it's even better:)
