Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I'm primarily hosting in Ann Arbor for a while.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

None formally through this community. I've traveled to Hawaii, New Mexico, Colorado, Washington State, Washington DC sleeping on couches and doing some work trade for housing. Those were very formative experiences, all of them.

Interests

I am interested in "reality" as a subjective and objective experience, as well as practical skills like carpentry and group facilitation. Also, how to get to the bottom of things.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I went backpacking for 10 days in Tennessee in early March. I didn't remove my clothes once for those 10 days.

I heard a pack of wolves with pups beginning the night together with song in Isle Royale.

I saw an entrapped bee harassing a spider in the spider's own web.

I watched a Giant Swallowtail lazy through a field.

I was left behind by my train, which took all my belongings with it.

I watched the blood-red sunset through smoke from wildfires in the southwest.

I surfed the pacific.

I climbed a mountain in Scotland to build a zendo.

Teach, Learn, Share

I know a thing or two about the natural world, most specifically plants, and have a slightly-above-basic knowledge of yoga (considering the depth of the ancient science...). Also I love to cook and could contribute some knowledge of nutrition and technique.

What I seem to be generally most interested in is human relationship in all its subtlety and emotion. I also have definite interest in learning basically any skill.
