Sobre mí

I'm Alli, I take pictures, day dream, laugh a ton and travel as often as I can. I'm a huge foodie and always want to try the local cuisine when visiting a new place. I love to go off the beaten path, meet locals and see the non touristy version of their home.

I'm quirky, funny and slightly unfiltered, lol. Spontaneous adventures, drinks with my girls and Thai food are the necessary fuels for my soul. My newest obsession is scuba diving. I can't get enough!

Por qué estoy en Couchsurfing

I'm couch surfing because it gives me the opportunity to meet new people in a new country and see their world through them, not Lonely Planet. I love to share stories and have authentic experiences.

Intereses

Photography, eating and drinking the local cuisine, hiking, exploring, getting lost, scuba diving, going to the beach and meeting new people of course!

Música, películas y libros

I love lots of music, from hip hop to old school funk to classic rock.

Some of my favorite movies are: Forest Gump, Steel Magnolias, Bridesmaids, Gladiator, Pulp Fiction, the Indiana Jones movies, Silence of the lambs, Wedding Crashers, Fried Green Tomatoes. I could go on and on. I love movies.

As for books, the last couple I read and loved were Tales of a Female Nomad and The Alchemist. I'm more of an article and blog reader than books these days.

Algo increíble que he hecho

I met a woman on the train in South Korea once and after chatting a bit she invited me to go stay with her at a Buddhist temple for the night. I was hesitant because I knew nothing about her. I had 45 minutes to decide weather I'd get off where I was supposed to or take a leap of faith and trust a complete stranger. I took that leap and it was the most memorable part of my trip. I got to have tea with the monk, we slept on the floor side by side and giggled as we tried to go to sleep early because we knew we'd be woken up at 3:30am to pray. It was a humbling and authentic experience. One of trust, new found friendship and generosity.

Qué puedo ofrecer a los anfitriones

Stories and friendship. I'd love to take your portrait but that would be for me as well. :)
