Hi everyone! My name is Allie and I am a 21 year old student from Philadelphia, PA. Currently, I am studying abroad in Rome, and I am trying to see as much of the world as possible throughout this semester! I am a Communications and Psychology student, and my friends all refer to me as the mom of the group since I am calm, quiet, kind, responsible, and I am always making sure everyone is okay and happy :-) I love to explore, see new sights, and have once-in-a-lifetime experiences. I am a recent vegetarian (almost a year), and I love trying new foods from the places I travel (I will accept any and all restaurant/cafe/bar/ect. recommendations!). When I travel, I try to have a good mix of planned experiences and time left for aimlessly wandering to find the things the internet could never recommend.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

As a student, I am on a shoestring budget, but I still want to travel around as much as possible. If I would be able to find people willing to host me, I would be able to cut down on travel costs immensely. Additionally, couch surfing gives me the wonderful opportunity to spend time with a real local. I do not think anything could compare to getting actual tips from someone who lives their daily lives in the area.

Music, Movies, and Books

As a Communication Studies major hoping to get into the television business after graduation, I have a lot of opinions on TV and movies! My favorite shows of all time are Parks and Recreation and Gilmore Girls. A show I recently watched and loved is Pushing Daisies. I also love The Good Place, Frasier, Stranger Things, Community, 30 Rock, Broad City and Chuck, just to name a bunch. I am always down to talk about great TV!
As for music, I typically listen to smaller indie artists, but I am not at all ashamed of my love for pop! I can listen to almost everything besides modern country.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

It may not seem amazing to most travelers, but spending the semester abroad is amazing for me, as I never thought I would save up enough money and have enough courage to be able to do this!

What I Can Share with Hosts

I would love to be a very low maintenance surfer! I am very quiet and would likely be out of the house for most of the day. I really want to impose as little as possible. I would be able to help any host with their English, and my friends tell me that I make an amazing chocolate chip cookie :-)
