ABOUT ME

We (Allison & Al) biked across the country from Portland, Maine to Portland, Oregon to raise funds for the Best Buddies International Alternative Break Program! It's a program that enables people with intellectual and developmental disabilities to do integrated community service. The hope is that the service work will create a feeling of empowerment and accomplishment, while also developing important social skills!

Al is 26, and I am 23. We met in Colorado while I was adaptive ski instructing for people with cognitive and physical disabilities and Al was volunteering in the adaptive program's equipment room. We went on many ski/snowboard, hiking, biking, and climbing adventures during the winter. Then, we decided to go on a BIG adventure and bike across the United States, from the Atlantic to the Pacific Ocean!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

We are very new to couch surfing! It seemed like an incredible opportunity for us, since we generally sleep in a tent along the way. We cannot wait to be hosts once we have finished our adventure.
