About Me

CURRENT MISSION

I recently finished a PhD in pathology. Now I am trying to figure out how I can use what I know to have the biggest impact on society. I am searching for opportunity.

ABOUT ME

I can find the humor in every situation. I can live about anywhere, and I would prefer to live in a place where I can hike for miles outside of my backdoor. I develop an interest in most things. I like telling bad jokes; I know about 3 right now.

PHILOSOPHY

If you can't fix it, don't worry, someone will like it. Also, don't worry so much. Let's be honest, not everyone is going to like you, so love yourself, including your imperfections. Decide what you want to do, and try your best to do it. Don't take yourself so seriously, just laugh at everything you do. If you see someone that takes his or herself too seriously, laugh at them too.

Always try to improve yourself and learn new things. Try to explain things to people, and if you sound stupid that time, you probably won't let yourself sound stupid next time.

"We're all a paycheck away from being homeless, so today's a good day for some fishin'."

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

My friend and I drove up to Nova Scotia in the middle of the summer. We met these lobster fishermen who offered to let us go to work with them one day. We had to be on the dock at 5:30 am, I'll never forget the sunrise on the bay. We caught a lot of lobster, got off at 12:30 pm, and were paid in lobster. Ohhh yeahh!

What I Can Share with Hosts

I am willing to work on any project you throw at me. I realize CS is a "free" place to stay, but I enjoy giving some sort of gift (chocolate?/beer?) or helping out some way around the house in return for hosting. I like talking about science and medicine, cults, frugality, side-hustles, bicycling, running, backpacking/hiking, minimalism, building things, seizing the day, and the future. I respect people for who they are, not only if they are similar to me. I tend to be optimistic-- I hatch crazy plans and expect them to work-- chaos can be a ladder.

Countries I’ve Visited
