About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Settling in to life on Kauai as I begin a six month massage training at PCAB Pacifica Center for Awareness and Bodywork) in Princeville. Looking for housing/camping and transportation!
ABOUT ME
I'm originally from the East Coast. I've lived, worked, and attended school in several states (Maryland, New Mexico, New York, California) and a few countries (Latvia, England, Senegal). I've earned several degrees (Philosophy, Soil Science, City Planning). I've worked at times as a carpenter (specialty in straw bale construction), nanny, home organizer, driver. I've been a Peace Corps Volunteer (two years in Senegal) and an Americorps volunteer (one year in Oregon). Over the last several years my interests have turned more inwards and I've been making a personal study of yoga, meditation, psychology, and counseling. Right now I'm living a dream from high school that I had long neglected: to attend massage school! We are two weeks into classes and it's the best decision I ever made!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I have had great experiences hosting and being hosted. I love showing people around my town (whichever town I happen to be in). I've organized a few events in different towns I've lived/visited. I like to check the activities announcements for towns I'm traveling in. I've surfed from West Africa up to Europe and in the US. I've hosted mostly in upstate New York.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I've done a fair amount of couchsurfing over the years, before discovering CouchSurfing and I hope that couch surfing can expand!
I travelled with Beccas for four months, beginning in Senegal, ending in Wisconsin. We had so many great hosts! Since then I've attended a DC meetup, organized a Silver Spring meetup and an Albany meetup, stayed with surfers in Salt Lake City, met folks in London, found some folks in my new town, and tagged along with friends and their couchsurfers this year. I couchsurfed when I first moved to upstate New York for graduate school, and I've had a chance to host there as well.

The most amazing thing I've done is to finally attend massage school. I've been wanting to do this for more than half my life, so it's a big accomplishment for me.
Teach, Learn, Share
I can show people how to make Maffe (West African Peanut Stew), share contact improv dance, sing songs together, go on adventures, garden, fix stuff around the house.
