ABOUT ME

For the 2 years after getting my bachelors degree, I was work trading on organic farms in the US and Europe, learning, developing my love for food, biking the pacific coast, and meeting an amazing array of new people. I explore new cities and look for bargains all the time but usually I run back to the countryside before too long. Something about being raised in Seattle makes me addicted to mountains, forest, and water. Mainly I'm obsessed with growing and cooking my own food. I used to study filmmaking and talk a lot of philosophy/theory, but now I try to focus more on PRAXIS! I work for two community gardens in Seattle and try to make home-grown produce more available to people in my neighborhood, as well as teaching them how to do it themselves. To pay the bills I'm a waitress so I keep pretty busy.

Surfed a lot while traveling in europe. I finally have a home of my own I'm looking forward to hosting! I enjoy networking people I know in different places and making this world smaller in a less scary social-media format

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Having been homeless for approximately 2 years, I've learned to really appreciate the beauty of couchsurfing and work exchange! What would I do without the kindness of strangers? One of my friends even hosted me again in her hometown and initiated her parents to the CS experiment. I like to cook you food and then clean up afterwards.

Intereses

cooking, biking, gardening, yoga, reading, climbing, hiking, and exploring. I'm really passionate about alternative living/sustainablity/homesteading and its relevance to food production, especially preservation, fermentation, and mycology. For a while I thought about being a social drop-out but now I'm trying to figure out how to bring the good life to the city and share it with everyone!
