About Me
CURRENT MISSION
discover as much of the word as I can meanwhile reading as many books as I can manage.
ABOUT ME
I grew up in a small town and always felt like I would never fit in. Then I met The Internet and decided my place would be the whole world. I talk a lot but I also like to listen and learn as much as I can.
What drives my life the most is passion. My biggest passions involve books: reading, translating, writing, libraries, bookshops. I'm currently an English teacher in Hiroshima Prefecture, but my specialty is translation. My dream job would be getting paid to: travel, translate, write, watch tv shows and movies, read books and be addicted to the internet; so I hope to go freelance next year to gain a bit of flexibility.
People tell me I'm too much of a dreamer and they may be right, but when I put my mind to something, nothing can stop me.
My favourite Japanese word is 熱心 because I think it represents me very well.
PHILOSOPHY
"I can never read all the books I want; I can never be all the people I want and live all the lives I want. I can never train myself in all the skills I want. And why do I want? I want to live and feel all the shades, tones and variations of mental and physical experience possible in life. And I am horribly limited" -Sylvia Plath
The difference between me and Sylvia is that I take this as a challenge and a reason never to keep still, never to lose time. And what better way not to lose time than doing what you're passionate about?
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I host when I can, and surf whenever I manage to save a bit of money to get away from the place I'm in that moment.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I met so many couchsurfers without being on couchsurfing, and they all proved to be fantastic people with the most interesting stories. so, I decided: time to make some stories of my own, and joined this incredible family.
Interests
I always say I like too many things. English is and always will be my first love, but I love learning languages in general! The process of learning is so interesting and fun and impossible and long and complicated and totally crazy. Every language is a world, and I want to get to know as many worlds as possible. I'm still studying Spanish, Japanese and German, and I am in love with them all.
Books are what made me the person I am now, together with the Internet, of course. Without them I would never have known that there was so much more to life than my little town with its little people. Books also pushed me to write, and now I guess words are my favourite addiction.
Philosophy, art, literature, history, feminism: culture in general fascinates me.
Music is an important part of my life, it gives me motivation and strength, comfort and so many feelings. Movies and tv shows are also quite high on my list of priorities: long story short, I'm trying to catch 'em all.
I'm recently got into photography and I find it very relaxing and centering. Almost a meditation, to some degree.
I do not resist long without doing some kind of sport. My long time favourites are volleyball, soccer and tennis, but I'm also a long time parkour practitioner (and forever a beginner). I also got into bouldering, last year, and I love it! It gives you so many satisfactions and I adore to feel the soreness of my muscles after a good practice.
There's probably more, but where's the fun if I tell you everything?

But I feel I'm being very unfair to all the other books I've read and loved.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
The first steps into a new language always amaze me. The joy of understanding and communicating in a language you didn't know the month before. Proof that words as such can be the cause of happiness.
Teach, Learn, Share
I want to learn. And teach. And share. It doesn't matter what it is.
