Overview
About Me
I'm 21 years old, hailing from a farming village in northern Israel. Traveling wherever my mind takes me, hoping to find new and incredible people to meet & talk to. I'm very curious about local cultures and the people within them, and want to get to know the countries I go to through their people rather than through their tourist offices!
I'm a self-taught musician, playing and composing music pieces for guitar. I love to talk about anything related to music or musicianship, and to make some quirky jams with any musician I get a chance to play with. Strange time signatures, peculiar-sounding scales, oddball singing, I love that type of stuff.
I'm fluent in English, fluent in Hebrew, and always want to learn a bit more wherever I go.
I'm a big animal lover, so pets are not an issue for me. Got a dog and a cat back home!
I am entirely open to all people regardless of race, politics, sexual preference, gender, or anything else. I have learned in my life that all people can connect and learn from each other as long as there is openness and conversation.
To whom it may be relevant, I am a senior of Waldorf Anthroposophic education and experienced my school years in Harduf, an Anthroposophic village in northen Israel.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I'm looking to meet unique people while also finding unique places to stay, to enrich my traveling experience and help me save a few dollars to extend the trip even more. I don't have a rigid plan, but I'm not going to hop in and out unexpectedly. I haven't much experience traveling by myself, so I want to put myself out there head first into the water, and break any artificial barriers between me and the places I'm going to. I have experience living with roommates so I know how to handle myself in a crowded house.
I don't expect to be treated like I'm in a hotel and will gladly help around the house in any way that I can, whether it's cooking (basic cooking, but I can make a pretty good quinoa), washing dishes, or getting groceries.
While getting to talk to and get to know my hosts would be terrific, and even more so if they choose to show me around, I am very grateful for just a carpet to rest my head on.
Once I come back from the trip and use my savings to get my own place, I plan on hosting people as well. Right now it's sadly not an option as I don't live alone and the other residents don't allow it.

Music, Movies, and Books
Music: King Crimson, Brian Eno, Talking Head, Gentle Giant, Van Der Graaf Generator, Bowie, all sorts of others.. I'm huge on progressive rock and art rock.
I love older cinema, especially things less on the beaten path. Favourite old timey movie is probably The Third Man, and my absolute all time favourite movie is Kubrick's Dr. Strangelove.
I enjoy the 'golden age' sci-fi books, ones from Asimov, Philip K. Dick, or Arthur C. Clarke. Also read The Lord of the Rings when I was younger.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Trekked through the Negev desert, sweating profusely and drying up like a raisin. Met all sorts of people on the way. Did it again twice more!
Teach, Learn, Share
I can share some neat ideas for guitar composition (and composition in general), and tell you whatever you'd like to know about my native country.
What I Can Share with Hosts
Interesting conversations about any passionate topic we can think of, stories and information about my native country of Israel, and just a mutual good time in general.
