I have always been interested in Russia. I do not have a talent for languages unfortunately, and I have struggled to get a grasp on Russian.
I have spent most of my life working in home repair and woodworking, and recently changed professions, and began driving a truck. This was partly due to my desire to travel.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I would like to find a host that can help me find my way around Moscow and The Golden Ring. Staying with a host will help me understand how Russians live. It will be better than staying at a hotel.

Interests

I enjoy spending time with my dog and taking long walks in the woods. I like to cook and going on picnics. I like to read and do artwork, mostly acrylic on canvas.

Music, Movies, and Books

I like the Russian movie called Brother, and I like another American movie called Eastern Promises. And Dr. Zhivago.
I like Russian literature, esp. Dostoevesky. I like Russian icons and architecture. In America I like western art and music. like cowboys and ranches.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I was and Arctic Paratrooper in the U.S. Army in my younger days, and spent 2 years living in Alaska and training in the extreme conditions of the Arctic.
