NOTE: Currently can't host in Boulder, unfortunately.
I love people and travel. I'm interested in many things: social issues, sustainability, the environment, spirituality.
I am an educator, but after teaching for many years I started my own business to help students who are struggling with adhd, autism, dyslexia, anxiety, depression, substance problems, etc.. I blog about it, speak at conferences, and believe in education WHEN it's done right. Too many schools don't know how to meet the needs of these students, so I do what I can to make change.
Music- play guitar and jam with people, either on stage with an electric guitar or hanging with people playing acoustic
Hiking - anywhere exploring outside
Community and culture
Nature, animals, science
I read a lot about the brain, business, psychology, relationships and spirituality.
Fascinated by people's stories, what makes them who they are.
Love Colorado- great home base for me. Was living in Boulder until August 2016, now traveling for a year. Will settle down in Southern California somewhere. Got ideas?
I do not drink, smoke or do drugs. I prefer staying in places with no drugs please.
Absolutely love life, exploration and adventure.
Live with integrity, give to the world.
Follow your bliss, listen to your gut.
Be present and enjoy.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I like to host and make visitors feel at home. I like to be a tour guide and help visitors find the right local places to visit.
Love to visit new places, meet new people, share good times. It's always an adventure.
I have surfed many times and hosted quite a bit of people, some from couchsurfing, some from other connections. Whenever I can host, I do, and I've met some great friends along the way. I am always amazed by how generous human beings are. TV news makes people seem terrible, but my real life experience is that the vast majority of people are AWESOME, kind, friendly, and caring.

BOOKS: Reading 'Decisive' and 'The Alchemist' right now. I read tons of entrepreneurial and personal growth books.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Lived on the Navajo Indian reservation for 3 years- it was amazing for me. I learned so much about life, myself, culture, land, and fell in love with the Navajo Dine People.
Teach, Learn, Share
I was a teacher for 12 years. I appreciate the opportunity to help kids move beyond what they think they can do. Particularly interested in out-of-the-box learners, kids/people that dance to the beat of a different drum. Work with adhd, dyslexia, autism, aspergers, struggling students.
What I Can Share with Hosts

I'm handy, can build and fix things, clean, do yard work, farming
Also like to help kids with school work since I was a teacher for many years and currently work with struggling students
