I am Alvaro Valencia, an industrial designer who feel passionate about cities, nightlife, fashion, beauty, films, and arts, not necessarily in this order. These things inspire me to create in several ways I hope I can share with you.
Born in Colombia, a citizen of the world, I like to believe I adapt to change easily. Formerly living in Buenos Aires, a city that inspired me for 2 years. Currently living in Doha, “the big tree”; capital of the sunny State of Qatar. Excited to live my first-time experience over this part of the world, The Persian Gulf.

As a cabin crew, I get to travel different cities and immerse briefly in different cultures but when on duty there is never enough time to explore the beauty, costumes, and streets of every destination. For me, it is always important to hang with locals, get to know the places driven by the experts who can give you a much more interesting perspective than the regular tourist one. Meeting new people and sharing stories is one of the best things I've experienced cuz when you do that, you really TRAVEL!

I have a wide range of favorite music, from Taylor Swift to white noise ( I listen to relax or sleep) but most of the times my mood will dictate the music I'd listen to. To mention some of my always favorites I have to say, Lana Del Rey, Sia, M83, Dua Lipa, Mo, Oh Land, Chet Faker, The Blaze, Lykke Li. Lately, I have developed a taste for electronic music, especially techno, dance and progressive. And I've encountered masters of music such as David August, Solomun, Javid and Stavroz.

I love drama movies and I also enjoy thriller and horror movies. My favorite titles are The Reader, Great Expectations, Gravity and Interstellar.

As for books, I am devoted to British Novels from the 19th century such as Great Expectations, Wuthering Heights and Pride and Prejudice. Also, my favorite author is the Portuguese Jose Saramago (R.I.P.), I love his essays and novels.

Experiences, I have so many stories. Recipes, I lived with a lovely Brazilian girl Jeisse (now a dear friend) and she taught me so many things about food. Pictures, lately I've been forcing myself to take more pictures of the places I go and I've starting to like the result. But mostly, I would love to listen and learn from my hosts.
