Hello :) My name is Alvin. I grew up in the United States and have been living in New Zealand for 10 years. I have a farm in Hikuai (near Tairua on the Coromandel Peninsula) and work as a water engineer in various locations. I love playing guitar, tramping, all things water, and have recently received a black belt in Tae Kwon Do.

We have hosted numerous couchsurfers over the years. I can happily say that every experience has been positive and fulfilling, and have been fortunate enough to have the company of some of the world's great travellers of our time. Couchsurfing exemplifies freedom in its purest form. Rarely a greater way to form meaningful connections with like-minded people who simply wish to live in freedom, see with one's own eyes what this world has to offer, and getting to genuinely know a place and it's people :)

Just one? Well, I really loved visiting the Mayan pyramids, river rafting down the Whanganui River/staying on the marae & recently sharing the stage with Black Seeds, Hollie Smith, Tikki at Sonic Waves!
