About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Eat as much sushi as humany possible, swim in the ocean without screaming and experience as many different cultures as possible before I die.

ABOUT ME

Hello! I'm a 20-something gal who is now calling Vancouver her home after I moved down here from the suburbs last winter. I love my city and I'm always eager to share my knowledge of it or go exploring.

I love to cook, knit, read, hike, snowboard or ski, swim and practice yoga. One of my favourite things to do in Vancouver is ride my bike around the seawall. I hate to admit this, but I'm also a reality tv junkie :)

I've got a pretty big and quirky personality, and I have been described as being "open" - I really have nothing to hide and I'm always willing to share.

When I'm traveling is when I feel most like myself. I just renewed my passport, so the pages are no longer filled with all my stamps and visas...I'm looking at this as a clean slate and I can't wait to hit the road again and start filling the pages!

PHILOSOPHY

I live for experiences. Anything that creates a long lasting memory and the opportunity to retell the story later with overly enthusiastic hand gestures.

I'm open minded, and will rarely ever back down from a challenge. I welcome friends into my life from all walks of life. I used to think I knew a lot about this life I lead...then I went traveling and realized I know nothing...therefore I'm constantly seeking opportunities to learn about other people's beliefs, cultures and ways of life.

Education breeds understanding and tolerance, and it's these two things that will hopefully one day, abolish ignorance making this world will be a better place to live.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Since my last adventure I have gotten myself a grownup job, and sadly this has meant meeting less people compared to the constant change of scenery that being on the road gives. I'm hoping this community will help change that as I'd like to open up my life and offer my hospitality to those who come and visit this city that I'm so lucky to call home. Right now I don't have a couch due to a roommate situation, but I'm super close to the city and always up for playing tour guide. Also feel free to contact me with any questions you have regarding Vancouver and I'll do my best to answer your Q's or point you to someone who can.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

As of yet I haven't surfed any couches...However, the people who I've met who are a part of the network have all been awesome, so I hope to one day very soon start my surfing experience!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

The Gibbon Experience in Northern Laos. To be able to live in a 3 story tree house in the middle of the jungle, and travel around on a network of zip cables high above the jungle canopy, and then fall asleep to the cacophony of jungle noise was nothing short of amazing.

Teach, Learn, Share

TEACH: Photography. Not that i'm good at it by any means...but i just love to do it. And I've found the only way to get better at photography is through actually TAKING photos and sharing them with others.

LEARN: I'd like to learn all i can about India and the very diverse culture there. My goal one day is to visit and volunteer in India and experience it full on.

SHARE: My Chocolate Chip Cookies...i don't mean to brag, but they're pretty awesome! :)
