Hi, I’m Alyssa! I work as a housekeeping manager at a conference center in California, US from March to November. It snows too much in the Winter for the business to stay open, so I get to spend my winter months traveling!

Im a mix between planned and spontaneous, and I prefer to adventure based off recommendations (or company) of locals than things i find online. I love to meet people from different walks of life and really dive deep into how we’re all connected.

This Winter, my goal is to see the northern lights and ski in the alps, hopefully having other spontaneous adventures along the way!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I love to spend time outdoors and really get to know the area and people I’m visiting. I prefer slow travel, staying in a country/region for a month at a time at least, but I also want to see everything I can while I’m there. Couch-surfing is a fantastic opportunity to meet and really connect with people from all over the world. I love to learn about different cultures and personal experiences; I find it’s a fun and interesting way to challenge my own perspectives and learn something new.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I’ve backpacked across Southeast Asia, backflipped on skis (or attempted), learned to surf in Bali, scuba dove with manta rays, been skydiving twice, and I’m sure many more things I’ll think of later!

I love doing all forms of visual art. My mom was an art teacher, and I’ve taught classes with her since I was little. Painting, sculpture, pottery, printmaking, drawing: I’d love to share with anyone who’s interested!
