ABOUT ME

Hello! My name is Alyssa, and I am a passionate, caring individual. I love adventures and making plans at the drop of a hat. I treat the earth with respect and love recycling. I eat fresh fruit like it is nobody's business, and recently ended a 7-year stint of vegetarianism, but still eat meat only on occassion. I'm honest and dependable, and stand up for what I believe is right. I have a pet guinea pig named Tequila, but she is currently at home in the USA.

PHILOSOPHY

Live and let live. I believe in mutual respect between all people. You will not share the same beliefs as everyone you meet, but it is vital to accept the differences and learn from each individual.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Right now I don't have a couch to share because I live with three other people, and we honestly just don't have a couch, but I would love the opportunity to show fellow couch surfers around.

Interests

Currently I am very interested in language acquisition. I love to read, and one of my favorite authors, Steven Pinker, writes all about language and how it relates to being human. Along with reading, I enjoy exercise, hiking, scuba diving, and pretty much any activity relating to water.

Music, Movies, and Books

Books: I am currently reading "Stuff of Thought" -- Steven Pinker along with the Game of Thrones series, and although I am not usually drawn to fantasy books they have kept me reading! I've finished four of the books so far. My favorite author is Bryce Courtenay (The Power of One, Tandia, The Potato Factory)
Music: I like almost all music depending on my mood... however I cant get into scream-o kind of stuff

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I climbed on the Great Wall of China! It was bitter cold outside, but it was amazing to see such a feat created by man.
