ABOUT ME

I love adventure of everysort. I am a go-getter. I love meeting new people and trying new things. Especially food. Some of my favorite things to do are: read, go camping, paint, run, laugh, volunteer, watch baseball, debate, dance, and be silly.

PHILOSOPHY

I hope to accomplish two things in my life:
1. To thoroughly enjoy it!
2. To leave the world a better place than it was than when I came into it.
For me, those two things go hand in hand because I enjoy nothing more than being part of a cause. I have been active in Habitat for Humanity for 3 years now, and also worked at an animal shelter for 5 years before I went away to school. Those sort of things make me feel productive and therefore happy.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

At the moment, I am living with a host family and studying abroad in Granada, so I cannot provide a couch as of yet. However, I believe that the surfer is just as integral to the experience as the host! I hope to share my enthusiasm and experiences with those who offer me their hospitality, and in turn learn about them! Also, when I return home in December, my couch will become available to anyone who would like to experience the midwest!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Unfortunately, I havent had the opportunity to couch surf yet, I learned about this project just a week ago while backpacking eastern europe. I have heard only good things though!

我做过的一件不可思议的事情

I swam in the bioluminescent bay in Vieques, Puerto Rico. The bay is filled with one celled creatures that light up when disturbed, and there are 500,000 of them per gallon, making it the brightest bay in the world. When I swam, my whole body and the path that my limbs had moved through in the water were immediately illuminated, as were the fish and all other creatures! I felt like I was swimming in pixie dust!!!

As a member of a competitive debate team I have learned that there are ALWAYS two sides to every story. This is the most valuable lesson I have ever learned. The best advice that I can give is to examine every possible angle and opinion before passing judgment and you will learn a lot more about people and probably like them more too. Having learned that gave me more faith in humankind.
