About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To chase that feeling of euphoria from getting lost in a faraway land

ABOUT ME

Hi! My name's Antonio. I grew up in Manila, Philippines, studied mechanical engineering and economics in Philadelphia, PA, USA, and started work for a small analytics company in 2012 in San Francisco, CA, USA.

I can be a goofball that gets distracted way too easily, has way too hard a time to 'let go' of things, and can't be dissuaded from trying something new.

I've lived a tame life so far, so I'm trying to overcompensate. I'm eager to go on adventures with people outside my circles from different cultures to try new things.

PHILOSOPHY

I'm always trying to find purpose in life. My most frequent worry has been balancing focus with openness, do you know what I mean? Those two worries: one where you wake up one day and realize you've gone so deep down a path that wasn't meant for you, and one where you realize you've spent no time on the thing that makes you truly happy.

Music, Movies, and Books

Books:
Don't kill me, but I don't read too much. Not that I don't appreciate reading, but I much prefer non-fiction (biographies, historical accounts, periodicals, things like that). The two popular books I love:
Crime & Punishment
Great Gatsby. (I think it's one of the best pieces of modern American Lit out there.)

Music:
Lykke Li
Arctic Monkeys
Kid Cudi
Rodriguez
Oasis
alt-J

Movies:
Big Kubrick Fan
Usual Suspects

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Marine life. Oh all the stuff under the sea! Whale Sharks, Sharks, Jellies, Reefs! There's so much out there, it makes me want to go master diver, or marine biologist ha!

Teach, Learn, Share

I'm pretty handy. I spent a lot of time as a mechanical engineer making things, working with mills and things of that sort. I love spending time working on little projects from robots to furniture. That sort of thing.

I love the outdoors, and I'm probably most knowledgeable working with cars, motorcycles, and scuba equipment (related??). Tinkering with all that equipment and having studied some Physics sort of stuff has been quite helpful.

Countries I’ve Visited

Netherlands, Peru

Countries I’ve Lived In
