Overview
About Me
Hi! My name is Amad and I’m from the US.
After graduating Columbia with a degree in philosophy, I spent seven months teaching literature in India. I’ve been traveling since then, and have spent the last couple months in Turkey, Italy, France, the Netherlands and the UK. Now I’m traveling to Germany, which I can’t wait to explore.
I had never left the US until one year ago, and throwing myself into travel in this way has been amazing - especially thanks to the wonderful people who have hosted me through Couch Surfing so far!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I'm new to traveling and something I've discovered since starting is that travelers tend to be wonderful, open-minded, complex people. I simply love meeting the people who use Couch Surfing and hearing their stories, learning from how they conduct their lives, etc.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I created and taught my own course at a high school in India! We read ancient texts from different traditions (including Bhagavad Gita, St Augustine, Plato, Zhuangzi, Dao Dejing, The Odyssey) and focused on cultural difference. It was so much fun.
Teach, Learn, Share
I studied philosophy in undergrad. I also taught classical literature in India, and a shorter virtual course in China, so if you’re interested in classic texts, or hearing how different students read around the world, let me know :)
I’m a life-long learner and I would love to hear about anything you’re passionate about!
Right now I’m self-teaching latin.
