About Me
CURRENT MISSION
More adventure.
ABOUT ME
I was born in Germany, have lived in America but have lived in Ireland most my life. I'm very passionate about the country.
I'm extremely talkative. I like telling stories. On the whole like most people from Ireland I'm pretty easy going.
My sense of humour can be pretty mental (Trans. Irish for 'crazy') but I wouldn't have it any other way.
Culture and tradition is very important to me.
I pride myself above all in my imagination, which makes it pretty hard to have a boring time with me.
And though this may not technically be about me, the way in which my family have shaped me and inspired me makes it as much a part of who I am as my spleen (whatever that is).
All of my immediate family is artistic - my father is a professional artist, my sister is too, one brother is a photographer and my other brother is a composer and has his own orchestra.
PHILOSOPHY
Phew...really hard to condense this down.
Plus, if I don't say it here I can always tell you about it another time.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I've met some cool people who on use this site, but mainly through other means.
I am still however interested in the idea and would be willing to meet up for tea or a pint if people are visiting Ireland. We'll see where it goes then!

Interests
Art and culture:
My education in this field is pretty vast (see details of my family life in the above section).
I write (poetry, prose, short stories, etc., working my way up to novels.
I draw (doodles, pure mental things, etc.).
I take pictures (not an expert I must admit).
I read, listen to loads of music and am a sponge for art in almost all it's manifestations.
Food is possibly one of my biggest reasons for being alive (literally, too) and trying new stuff is always appreciated.
Sadly I'm a fairly limited cook, so I'd like to work on that.
I like meeting amazing and inspiring people, and am pretty lucky in having met absolutely loads of this type in my life.
I'm interested in the natural world, animals, plants, etc.
There's very little I won't be at least a little interested in...that way I won't miss out!

Music, Movies, and Books
This is really hard, but I'll try to list a few of the books and type of books I like:
Fairytales and folktales from around the world, history books, art books, life stories, autobiographies, imaginative/surreal books, poetry. Film Noir, detective fiction like Raymond Chandler, etc.
Stuff like 1984, Clockwork Orange, 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea, Shogun, Memoirs of a Geisha, Jane Eyre and so on.
A taste of the music I like:
Nine Inch Nails, Nick Cave, PJ Harvey, Morphine, Portishead, Cyndi Lauper, Tuvan Music, White Stripes, Led Zeppelin, Tori Amos, James Brown, Mozart, etc.
And films, generally I like films from around the world, and I see quite a few so I won't list them here. Just ask me and I'll be glad to talk about them.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
My more recent travels in Japan, three amazing months.
An early trip to Nicaragua when I was a kid, around five or six years old. An amazing place and amazing people.
But there's lots of other contenders.
