About Me

Hey! I'm Amal, nice to meet you.

I work remotely, so I spend most of my time at home. I'm a newbie solo traveler, constantly pushing myself to be a little braver with each trip.

I’m not really into the whole “must-visit destinations” thing — I prefer slow, spontaneous, unscheduled adventures.

I love exploring city landscapes, discovering local art, hunting through vintage stores, and simply people-watching 😊

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I like to get close as much as I can in the culture and connecting with the people of the countries I visit.

Music, Movies, and Books

G Dragon, 2NE1 and Hyukoh on repeat.
Binge watching Anthony Bourdain on Youtube.
5 stacks of new books I bought but somehow doesn't have time to reopen them.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Make myself move to cross rivers and oceans.

Teach, Learn, Share

I enjoy talking about just about anything—culinary adventures, people, politics, happy moments, pop culture, celebrity scandals, coffee, journaling, photography—whatever sparks curiosity. It doesn't matter whether it's important or not, I'm always up for a good conversation.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I live with my housemates in a two-floor building right in the middle between the city center and Mount Merapi.

We don’t have any spare rooms, so you’d need to crash on the couch or sleep on tatami-style mats in the living room. There’s a big ceiling fan that does a decent job of keeping us cool.

We have a fully equipped kitchen and a cozy coffee bar—feel free to use them anytime. We also share the space with five mischievous indoor cats, so keeping the place odor-free is part of our daily routine.

Most importantly, we're a chill group of introverts who chose to live together to keep rent costs down.

If this sounds like your vibe, feel free to reach out!
