I have been a farmer's wife, mother and housewife for 25 years. I have ran a B & B and been a childminder in addition to working on the family dairy farm. I am currently at Glasgow University completing an MA in Art History. I have 3 adult children and 2 grandchildren. I have spent most of my married life facilitating my family's needs and have finally found I have time for myself now my children are older. I have always been keen to see the world but have been so busy with real life and being married to a farmer is not conducive to holidaying due to the commitment required to the lifestyle.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I am on couch surfing because I am so keen to travel but I will not always have someone to travel with. I do not have loads of money to travel with, but have decided that I need to make my travel dreams start to happen. My son has just been on a 21 day trip round Europe couch surfing and he had a great time. I am so happy to see that there are older people doing this I was worried everyone would be young. I love the idea of living with someone with local knowledge and believe this will really enrich my travel experiences. As I am studying History of Art I want to travel and visit all the Art Galleries and Museums that I have been learning about on my course.
