Hi I'm Amanda and I'm a mermaid!
My day job is creating (sculpting, designing, mold making, painting) beautiful silicone costume tops for mermaids all over the world! My tops have been on Ellen, Germany's Next Top Model, and quite a few other famous youtubers! When I am not creating for mermaids, I am performing and teaching conservation at aquariums all over the US. I also teach underwater modeling at a few select conventions throughout the year.

I absolutely love traveling and getting to know people and their culture. I believe that good food is key to bringing people together. And that is why I love cooking for people! I also love to host and hear peoples' stories/experience.

As I have just moved to the area, I'm still getting myself familiar with all there is to do in Baton Rouge, but I can guarantee a warm place to sleep, a delicious meal, whimsical decor, and probably way too many facts about Disney and Harry Potter.

I was just introduced to Couchsurfing last year, as with Airbnb, I love getting to stay with people who know the area and can share their insight. I hope to be able to do the same :)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Having the chance to travel and swim as a mermaid has changed my life. From swimming with the giants (whale sharks and mantas) to free diving to 100 ft, the water is my home. Every opportunity I get to be in the water and experience it's magic is amazing.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I love to cook and bake and would be honored to provide a meal for my hosts. I'm also a very clean and organized guest and will leave everything exactly as I found it.
