About Me

I've toured the United States off and on for various children's theatres as an actor/musician, and eventually settled in Boone, NC to figure out my next step... Which led to me becoming a nurse! I’m currently a travel nurse and love it. I enjoy playing guitar, singing, listening to music, writing, working with horses, baking, figure skating, hiking, cuddling my two cats, and traveling!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Meeting new people has only ever made me smile, and having a slew of friends all over the world brings me hope that, as a human, we are so much more alike than we are different. The best way to learn about where you are is through someone local, who lives in that city/town, and that's why I enjoy Couchsurfing: I get to experience these places less as a tourist, and more like a local. My second Couchsurfing experience in Finland was beyond exceptional, and I can only hope that in the future, I can host as well!

Interests

There are few things I won't try, and it's very difficult for me to become bored. I prefer cold weather (especially snow!), and adore all things seafood. I got into hiking when I lived in the Appalachian Mountains, and have always enjoyed packing two weeks of life into a backpack and planting myself somewhere I've never been. Staying fit and strong is important to both me and my mental health, and I adore figure skating, though I've never had a proper lesson. :) Hot drinks (coffee and tea) are my favorite ways to either wake up or wind down, and sharing a cup with someone over good conversation is always a plus! Eating local food is one of my favorite ways to learn about the culture of the place where I'm staying, and I'm up for trying anything.

Music, Movies, and Books

'Jane Eyre,' 'The Hobbit,' and the 'Harry Potter' series have continually had a huge impact on both my childhood and early adult life. 'The Good Place', 'M*A*S*H', and 'Avatar: The Last Airbender’ will forever be my top three favorite television shows of all time. I love music, and will give anything a listen at least once. Unashamed Swiftie and fan of The Maine!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

December 2015, I took an eleven-day solo-trip backpacking through England and Wales, and in January 2017, I took a nine-day backpacking trip through Finland. I did them both with my own money, and nothing has ever made me feel more proud than the experiences I was able to give myself by simply putting myself out of my comfort zone.

Teach, Learn, Share

As a surfer, I enjoy learning bits and pieces about the location I'm in from the people I stay with, as well as having discussions with them.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Because I've only ever performed for young audiences, I can tell stories upon stories of hilarious and tragic mishaps, both on and offstage! If you have a guitar, or some sort of instrument, we should write something together. I've had to compose for shows I've been in before, and love messing around with melodies and music. I enjoy getting out and about with my hosts, and you'll always have a captive audience when explaining things or showing me around.
