Myself and my husband Gerry are both from Iowa City, Iowa; in the middle of the United States. We have been married for 4 years. We're both very chill, fun-loving people. We enjoy hanging out with our friends and family, watching movies, playing board games, playing soccer together, and being involved in our church.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

We are looking to travel to Europe on a budget! Also, it seems like a great way to meet people and learn from their culture :)

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: I love oldies, such as the Beatles, Bob Dylan, Simon & Garfunkel, and Johnny Cash. I like all kinds of music, but my favorite genre is probably "indie folk." I also sing and play the guitar and keyboard. Gerry likes rock and classical music, and plays the guitar as well.

Movies: We both LOVE Lord of the Rings! We're pretty much down for any good movie, though :)

Books: I'm a huge fan of classic literature (Jane Austin books, Charlotte Bronte, Tolstoy, Dickens, etc.). Gerry likes political and philosophical books.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I lived on a small sailboat in Curacao (in the Carribean) for 3 months right after high school.

Gerry runs his own business, which I definitely think is amazing :)

What I Can Share with Hosts

We love to talk and learn from people. We would love to learn about your culture, and if you're interested, teach you about our culture as well :) We are VERY easy to please guests and are happy to help you in any way we can. Just give us some floor space, a blanket and pillow, and we'll be happy!
