I am Amanda, a Resident Director at Southwestern Oregon Community College. SWOCC is a small community college in rural Coos Bay Oregon, located on the Oregon Coast. I have been working and living in Oregon since June of 2014. Before coming over to the West Coast, I was attending school at Roger Williams University in Rhode Island. I am never far away from the water! I graduate in May 2014 with a degree in Psychology and a minor in American Studies with a focus on Gender and Sexuality Studies. I am using my Psychology degree now working with students living on campus. I love helping students in all facets of their college lives. I enjoy Student Affairs so much, I am going to be attending graduate school in the fall to earn a degree in College Student Personnel. I will use this to continue helping others at hopefully a greater capacity.
Fun Facts: I am a big cat person. I studied abroad in London, England. My favorite ice cream flavor is mint chocolate chip cookie dough with caramel and sprinkles. My favorite view in Oregon is at Shore Acres State Park.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I am Couchsurfing because I am embarking on a cross-country road trip. In addition to saving money where I can, I want to couchsurf because I think this is the best way to get the best experience at the locations I will be visiting. I know I can research all the places I will be visiting, but I still believe that locals would give me the best suggestions.
I additionally think it would be fun to meet others and to learn about their adventures.

I enjoy R&B, Rap, Hip Hop, and Pop music. On Spotify, my favorite playlists are "Rap Caviar," "Chill Vibes," "Throwback Thursday," and "Young and Free."

I enjoy all sorts of movies. It's hard to choose favorites, but I am always down for a romantic comedy!
